Human Nature and Purpose
๐ง The human mind is a spiritual essence distinct from the physical brain, surpassing animal capabilities as stated in 1 Corinthians 2:11.
๐ Humanity's purpose is to rise above animals and rule over creation, as outlined in Genesis 1:26.
๐จ Humans are uniquely capable of creation, reflecting their divine image as described in Genesis 1:26.
Spiritual Understanding
๐ The Holy Spirit or Mind of God is necessary to comprehend the things of God, which are spiritually discerned and beyond natural human understanding.
๐ก The human spirit can grasp earthly concepts like social etiquette, but requires the Holy Spirit to understand divine matters.
Eternal Life and Salvation
๐ฑ Eternal life is not currently possessed but is a hope planted in believers' minds through the Holy Spirit.
๐ผ The Holy Spirit serves as a down payment or deposit on eternal life, not the full realization of it.
๐ Eternal life is a future gift given to those who endure temptation and obey God's commands, as stated in James 1:12 and Romans 2:6-7.
Death and Afterlife
๐ค The dead are asleep, not conscious, and will wake up on the day of resurrection when their DNA is reactivated by the trumpet sound.
๐ Ecclesiastes 9:5 states that the dead know nothing and are forgotten by the living.
โ๏ธ The deceased do not immediately go to heaven or hell but face the Judgment seat of Christ based on their words and actions.
Soul and Mortality
๐ฅ The Hebrew word "nephesh" refers to a breathing creature, not an immortal soul, and applies to both humans and animals.
๐ The soul is not immortal and can die, as stated in Ezekiel 18:4: "The soul that sins shall die."
๐งฌ At death, the mind that recorded one's life returns to God, to be reconnected with the resurrected body at the Judgment seat of Christ.
